Đọc sách Phúc Âm, tôi thấy niềm tin của các môn đệ càng ngày càng vững mạnh, càng ngày càng bén rễ sâu hơn vào Chúa Kitô. Thật vậy, từ những con người hèn nhát, yếu đuối, ham sống sợ chết…họ đã trở thành những người can đảm, mạnh mẽ, và dám hy sinh cả mạng sống cho niềm tin vào Chúa Kitô Phục Sinh.

Bạn có biết tại sao họ lại được thay đổi như vậy không? Có nhiều lý do lắm, nhưng tôi thấy một trong những lý do khiến họ thay đổi được như vậy là vì Chúa Giêsu đã soi lòng mở trí cho các ông hiểu Kinh Thánh (Lc 24:45). Chính nhờ vào việc hiểu biết Kinh Thánh cho nên các ông đã nhận ra Chúa Giê-su đã được các ngôn sứ Hô-sê, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Thánh Vịnh…tiên báo chính là Đấng Mê-si-a, là vị cứu tinh của nhân loại và là Con Một Thiên Chúa, đã nhập thể làm người, đã chịu nạn chịu chết và đã phục sinh.

Reading the Bible, I became aware that the faith of the apostles was deepened and rooted in Christ. As a matter of fact, such transformation of character took place from being cowardly, hesitant, apprehensive…to becoming courageous, audacious, and even dared to sacrifice their lives for the faith in the Risen Christ.

Do you know why such transformation/conversion took place? There are many reasons, but one of the reasons that lead to such transformation/conversion is because Jesus opened their minds to understand the scriptures (Lk 24:45). It is through their understanding and knowledge of the Bible; thus they recognized Jesus, prophesied by the prophets Hosea, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, the Psalms…is the Messiah, the savior of mankind and the only Son of God, Incarnate, Word made flesh, suffered death and was resurrected.
