Trong bài Tin Mừng của Chúa Nhật hôm nay, qua dụ ngôn Người Gieo Giống Chúa Giê-su nói rằng, có nhiều người nghe lời rao giảng Nước Trời mà lại không hiểu. Tại sao người ta nghe mà lại không hiểu? Theo tôi, rất có thể là vì một trong ba lý do sau đây:

Thứ nhất, tại vì có một số vị trong hàng giáo sĩ chưa chuẩn bị một cách chu đáo cho việc rao giảng Lời Chúa.

• Vì quá bận rộn với những công việc điều hành, quản lý, xây dựng, & những công tác xã hội…
• Vì bỏ quá nhiều giờ cho tennis, chơi banh, câu cá, săn bắn, nuôi chim, nuôi cá, trồng kiểng…
• Vì lười biếng, chỉ soạn bài giảng qua loa, làm cho có, hay tệ hơn nữa, copy bài giảng trên internet rồi “xào nấu” để cho trở thành bài giảng của mình.
•  Vì dành quá nhiều thời giờ để lo cho xe cộ, tàu thuyền, cho những thú tiêu khiển, cho Facebook, cho Twitter…cho nên không có thời giờ để đọc, để suy niệm Lời Chúa.

In the Gospel today we hear the Parable of the Sower, in which Jesus said that there are people who hear the word of the Kingdom without understanding it. Why is it that people hear but do not understand? I think perhaps for one of the following three reasons:

First of all, perhaps because a priest has not done his best in fulfilling his duty of proclaiming the Word of God.

• He cares too much about the administration, management of parish affairs and plans for construction, or involvement in social work…
• He spends excessive time playing tennis, soccer, fishing, hunting, bird breeding, fish farming, cultivating ornamental trees…
•  It may be that he is lethargic, he is preparing the homily just for the sake of doing it, worse yet, he reprinted the homily on the internet, “edited/modified” so that the homily becomes his own.
• He wastes too much time on cars, boats, hobbies, social media such as Facebook, Twitter…and as a result, there is not enough time to read, meditate, and reflect on the Word of God.
